Q) Where is my refund? 


You can start checking on the status of your refund here Where is my refund?


  • 24 hours after e-filing a tax year return
  • 3 or 4 days after e-filing a prior year return
  • 4 weeks, after filing on paper
  • Amendments take at least 3 months to process
  • Please note the online “where is my refund” page is only updated once a day in the mornings. 


Q) What do I need to file? (Tax prep checklist?) 


This will depend on your personal tax needs. Please fill out a new client form on our website, call, or send us an e mail and someone will get back to you with your personalized tax plan and list.


 The most common forms and documents requested are:


  1. A Form of Identification (ID, Driver’s License, Passport)
  2. All income forms (W2s, 1099R, 1099NEC, 1099MISC, 1099INT, 1099DIV, 1099B *Stocks*)
  3. Social security cards for everyone on your return
  4. If you and/or anyone on the return has health insurance through the marketplace, please send us the 1095-A Form. If you need to get a hold of the marketplace their phone number is: 1-800-318-2596
  5. If you have a mortgage, send us your 1098 Form, Medical and Dental Expenses, Donation Forms/Receipts


Q) There is a form I’m not sure about should I include it?


Better to be safe than sorry. Send it over and we will review for you. This FAQ section has the most common forms used but it is not for every single scenario. 



Q) I am self-employed, what information do I send for my company?


  •  DBA Company (DBA Document and the EIN SS-4 Form from the IRS)
  • LLC/Inc/Corp Company (Certificate from the State, Certificate of Formation from the State, EIN SS-4 Form from the IRS, Tax Classification Letter (if applicable) 
  • Business income and expenses summary for the year *Note* we also offer bookkeeping services if you need us to calculate the income and expenses for you
  • If the company pays sales tax, please include copies of the reports for the year
  • If the company has employees, please include W3, 941, 940, and Texas Workforce Reports
  • If the company received electronic payments, please include 1099-K form 
  • Above is just a good start to filing your business return, it is not yet finalized. What is submitted will be reviewed and discussed with the client before finalizing.

  •  Payroll submittals on behalf of your company
  •  Electronic deposits to each of your employees on your scheduled payroll (Weekly, Biweekly, Monthly, Etc.)
  •     Paystubs for each employee 
  •     Quarterly and Annual Reports to the IRS and Texas Workforce Commission
  •     Annual W2 submittals 
  •     Payment submittals to the IRS and the Texas Workforce Commission


Q) Do I have to have both bookkeeping and Payroll Services


Although it is very beneficial to have both services so that you do not have to worry about tedious tasks, the answer is NO. Every one of our business clients has a unique and customized service plan, tell us exactly what you need, and we will put together a quote for you.
